Job summary

World Resources Institute (WRI) Indonesia is seeking a Clean Energy Supply Senior Lead to shape CES interventions and drive research across green power procurement, grid flexibility, IRP, solar PV and storage. The role reports to the ESB Senior Manager and collaborates with the CES team to deliver high-quality outputs.

The position is based in Jakarta with office‑flex arrangements, requires 8 days per month in the office, and involves occasional travel to support donor and partner engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Energy Economics, Economics, Energy System, Natural Resources Management or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in renewable energy, power systems, energy transition or related field.
• Proven knowledge of renewable energy procurement, power system planning, grid flexibility, energy storage, tariffs or industrial energy transition.
• Strong ability to formulate research questions, conduct literature reviews and synthesize evidence for clear insights.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and strategic insights to the development of CES pillar project interventions and research.
• Lead policy and technical studies to produce policy recommendations or technical guidelines in renewable energy procurement, energy transition, IRP, grid flexibility and storage.
• Oversee CES research quality and alignment across topics in the energy portfolio.
• Co-develop analyses on green power procurement for utilities, ministries and stakeholders.
• Lead coordination with experts and institutions to produce research products.
• Develop and maintain collaborations with global offices to enhance CES research and impact.
