Job summary

Manulife seeks an experienced actuarial professional to lead IFRS17 reserve production, quarterly and annual group reporting, and related forecasting. You will work with accounting and regional teams, support IFRS17 Core Earning and CSM monthly forecasts, and drive model changes with the VSSC group.

Strong communication and coaching skills are essential. The role requires an actuarial background, fluency in English, and advanced Excel/Office skills, with IFRS17 knowledge and AXIS experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in math/statistics/actuarial field is required.
• Fellow of an actuarial organization (e.g. PAI, SOA, IAAust, IA).
• Advanced MS Office (Word, Excel, Access) proficiency.
• Strong communication with cross-team peers.
• Knowledge of AXIS actuarial software preferred.
• Experience coaching or managing juniors is a plus.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate IFRS17 reserve, including non-system reserve, and manage end-to-end production.
• Prepare and analyze IFRS17 Driver of Earning templates for portfolios.
• Deliver timely quarterly and annual group reporting.
• Collaborate with accounting and regional teams on IFRS17 treatment.
• Coordinate with VSSC on production model changes and management.
• Support IFRS17 Core Earning, CSM monthly forecast, and MMR materials.
• Identify process improvements and automation opportunities.
• Lead ad-hoc IFRS17 projects and mentor junior staff.
