Senior Government Relations Analyst - WFO (ID: 677811)

JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Government Relations Analyst will be responsible for fostering and maintaining positive relationships with government agencies and officials at regional or Mataram as well as national level. This position is responsible for building and maintaining strategic relationships with key government stakeholders, including MEMR, MoEF, BKPM, and other relevant agencies. The role involves advocating for the company’s interests, facilitating permitting processes for mining operations, and ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires a proactive and strategic thinker capable of influencing policy outcomes and providing high-level guidance to senior leadership.


MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITY:

• Serve as the primary point of contact between the organization and government entities at the National and Regional level while at the same time establish and nurture relationships with key government officials including from MEMR, MoEF, BKPM and other relevant departments.

• Communicate effectively with government stakeholders to advocate for the company’s interest while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Represent the company’s interests in meetings, workshops, forums and negotiations with government stakeholders at national, regional and regencies’ level.

• Analyze proposed legislation and regulatory changes to assess potential implications and provide recommendations to the company/internal stakeholders.

• Identify key stakeholders for specific permitting requirements and develop a strategic communication plan to foster relationship.

• Facilitate the permitting process for mining operations, including securing exploration permits, mining licenses, environmental permits and other regulatory approvals.

• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including environmental standards, land use regulations, and safety protocols.

• Develop strategic government relations plan aligned with the company’s objectives and priorities, including providing strategic guidance to senior leadership on government relations issues and potential risks or opportunities.

• Provide regular updates and reports to the Government Relations Manager on government relations activities and regulatory developments.

• Identify opportunities for engagement to advance the company’s interests, including participation in industry associations.

• The ability to work independently as well in a team, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced mining environment. This position will require heavy travel flexibility (70% travel mobility).

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders and navigate complex political environments.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Sociology, Anthropology, Communication, Social Science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

• More than 5 years in experience dealing with extractive industry external/government relations or similar.

• Strong understanding of government structures, political dynamics, legislative processes and regulatory framework.

• The ability to work well under pressure and manage sensitive or controversial subjects with tact, kindness, and professionalism.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.

• Proficiency in relevant software and tools for data analysis and reporting, including developing it through presentation.

• Ability to record information accurately and clearly.

• Excellent Public speaking with sincerity and passion, conveying genuine enthusiasm as company representative.
