Job summary

PT Suryacipta Swadaya is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to prepare and review plans, interpret SPT/CPT data, and assess foundation and slope stability for industrial projects in Karawang, West Java.

The role requires 5+ years in geotechnical engineering, proficiency in PLAXIS and GeoStudio, and fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia. This full-time position offers on-site work with opportunities for professional certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with geotechnical focus.
• Minimum 5 years in geotechnical engineering, including industrial estates or major earthworks.
• Strong knowledge of soil investigation, SPT/CPT interpretation, soil mechanics, settlement and slope stability.
• Proficient in PLAXIS 2D/3D and GeoStudio/SLOPE-W.
• Familiar with Indonesian geotechnical standards and relevant ASTM/AASHTO methods.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Planning, Engineering, Construction, consultants, and contractors.

Job description

Job Descriptions:

• Prepare and review geotechnical investigation plans, including boreholes, SPT/CPT, groundwater monitoring, and laboratory testing, to establish ground models and identify data gaps.
• Review earthworks and grading designs, including cut/fill, compaction, settlement, embankment stability, and borrow material suitability.
• Assess ground improvement requirements and recommend appropriate solutions, including preloading, PVD, soil replacement, and stabilization.
• Review slope stability, excavation safety, retaining structures, foundations, piling, and settlement analyses for buildings and infrastructure.
• Review geotechnical aspects of roads, pavements, utilities, drainage, and underground services.
• Evaluate consultant and contractor designs, calculations, drawings, specifications, method statements, and value-engineering proposals.
• Establish geotechnical inspection and testing requirements, monitor field quality control, and investigate construction non-conformities.
• Monitor geotechnical performance and risks, recommend corrective actions, and coordinate with Planning, Engineering, Construction, consultants, and contractors.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree (S1) in Civil Engineering, preferably specializing in Geotechnical Engineering. Master's degree (S2) is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with experiences in industrial estates, major earthworks, or comparable infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of soil investigation, SPT/CPT interpretation, soil mechanics, settlement, slope stability, earthworks QA/QC, and foundation design.
• Proficient in PLAXIS 2D/3D, GeoStudio/SLOPE-W, or equivalent geotechnical analysis software.
• Familiar with applicable SNI geotechnical standards, Indonesian construction requirements, and relevant ASTM/AASHTO methods.
• Strong technical judgment, analytical and problem-solving skills, practical site experience, and technical reporting abilities in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
• Professional Engineer registration (Ir./STRI) or relevant geotechnical certification is preferred.
