Job summary

PT Grand Studio is seeking a talented Furniture Designer to create sustainable, ergonomic and practical furniture designs. The role requires a Bachelor in Architecture or Interior Design and strong English skills, with a balance of innovative and functional aesthetics.

The designer will present ideas using sketches and CAD tools, develop detailed designs and test concepts through models and prototypes, while coordinating with procurement and production and guiding a small overseas team.

Responsibilities

• Design furniture with sustainability, ergonomic and practicality in mind
• Present ideas and proposals using sketches, CAD, 3D, PPT, etc.
• Prepare detailed design, alterations and improvements on going
• Test ideas using models and prototypes
• Prepare installation, handling and maintenance manuals
• Consider packing, delivery and set up requirements
• Source new materials and finishes
• Liaise with procurement and production on manufacturing processes
• Manage a small, dedicated team abroad for drawing, purchasing and manufacturing
• Design to budget and design to value if required
