Job summary

Beca in Jakarta is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to lead the design and delivery of fire protection systems across a diverse project portfolio. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients while mentoring junior engineers and BIM designers to ensure high-quality, compliant solutions.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of consulting experience, strong NFPA/SNI knowledge, and proven leadership on medium to large projects. English and Bahasa Indonesia fluency is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or equivalent.
• 7+ years’ experience in a consulting engineering environment delivering building services projects.
• Strong technical expertise in fire protection and life safety systems design.
• Proven experience leading fire protection design packages on medium to large-scale building projects.
• Sound knowledge of NFPA, SNI, and other applicable fire protection codes.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout project delivery.
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of fire protection engineering packages across all project stages, from feasibility to construction support.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, reports, specifications, schedules, and documentation.
• Design fire protection systems including sprinkler, hydrant, hose reel, pumps, tanks, clean agent systems, and other protections.
• Coordinate with MEP, structural, architectural, and BIM teams for integrated design solutions.
• Undertake water demand and hydraulic calculations, equipment sizing, and performance assessments.
• Act as technical lead ensuring practical, compliant designs aligned with client requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and BIM designers.
• Review design deliverables to maintain high quality and technical excellence.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships through regular engagement.
