The role

You will be responsible for running day-to-day operations for our local entities and contributing to the growth of the regional accounting function. You will not only ensure timely preparation of our management reporting, but also help to drive the improvement of accounting best practices.

You should have/ be

  • A passion for all things accounting and finance
  • A genuine interest in the retail industry and/or e-commerce
  • An ability to think & work strategically and systematically
  • Analytical and inquisitive - loves how numbers and data tell a story, and delivering valuable insights to other departments
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to think out of the box with solutions that are scalable, sustainable and cost-efficient
  • A strong self starter with good initiative and a hands-on attitude to get things done!
  • A charismatic, trustworthy and relatable team player
  • Extremely meticulous to a fault!

Main responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly closing activities, including reconciliations, journal entries and financial reporting
  • Prepare monthly management reports and financial statements for local and Group reporting, ensuring they meet local and Group reporting requirements
  • Support the audit processes and assist in managing compliance with accounting and tax regulations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve finance operations efficiency and implement best practices to streamline processes
  • Review work and provide support to team members, offering guidance and mentorship to enhance their development.
  • Liaise and work closely with key business stakeholders across various regions and functions to address accounting issues and queries
  • Support in ERP system-related Finance projects.
  • Other ad-hoc duties assigned from time to time

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA) are preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, with some audit experience preferred.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a track record of delivering scalable, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions
  • Effective project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and perform well under pressure in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and align stakeholders across functions
  • Collaborative and supportive team player, capable of mentoring team mates and fostering a positive, high-performance work culture
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and ERP systems
  • Experience in system migration will be an added advantage
