Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; turbine-generator excitation experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design, operation, maintenance, and optimization of electrical systems in a coal-fired power plant.
• Implement preventive and predictive maintenance for high-voltage systems and control panels.
• Develop and review electrical system designs for power generation and distribution.
• Monitor generators, transformers, switchgear, and excitation systems.
• Perform load flow, short circuit, and protection coordination studies.
• Manage SCADA, PLC, and DCS for boiler-turbine-generator coordination.
• Analyze plant performance to maximize electrical output and minimize auxiliary power consumption.
• Recommend improvements for heat rate and overall plant efficiency.
