We’re looking for aSenior Database Architect / Engineerto lead the design and management of scalable, secure, and cloud-native database and data lake solutions. You’ll work acrossAWS,Microsoft Azure, andSnowflake, playing a key role in building the data infrastructure that supports business-critical applications and analytics at scale.

The ideal candidate has deep expertise withAWS Aurora,PostgreSQL,Azure SQL, and experience withNoSQL databasessuch asMongoDB,DynamoDB, orCosmos DB, along with strong knowledge ofdata lake architecturesusingAzure Data Lake Storage Gen2,Azure Synapse Analytics,Azure Data Factory, andSnowflake.

Key Responsibilities

• Database Architecture & Design
• Design and implement scalable and high-availability database solutions onAWS Aurora (PostgreSQL),PostgreSQL, andAzure SQL.
• Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and structures to support application and business requirements.
• Define data architecture standards and best practices.
• Performance Optimization & Tuning
• Analyze and resolve complex performance bottlenecks.
• Optimize SQL queries, indexing strategies, and storage configurations for high throughput and low latency.
• Security & Compliance
• Implement robust data security measures including encryption, access controls, and audit logging.
• Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy laws and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, PCI-DSS, ISO27001).
• Cloud Infrastructure Integration
• Collaborate with DevOps and cloud engineering teams to deploy and manage database instances inAWSandAzureenvironments.
• Design and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Monitoring & Maintenance
• Monitor database health using tools such as CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or third-party solutions.
• Perform regular updates, patching, and capacity planning.
• Collaboration & Documentation
• Work closely with software engineers, data analysts, and product teams to support data-intensive applications.
• Document architecture, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
• Future Roadmap: Design and supportNoSQL data storesfor high-throughput and flexible data models, reviewing technologies such asMongoDB,Amazon DynamoDB, andAzure Cosmos DB.

7+ years of experience in database architecture or data platform engineering.

Advanced knowledge ofAWS Aurora,PostgreSQL, andAzure SQL.

Experience withNoSQL database technologies, such as:

• MongoDB
• Amazon DynamoDB
• Azure Cosmos DB

Proven experience with cloud data lake platforms and tools, including:

• Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2
• Azure Synapse Analytics
• Azure Data Factory
• Snowflake
• AWS Glue / Lake Formation / S3

Certifications AWS Certified Database, Azure Data Engineer are a plus.

Strong skills indata modeling,ETL/ELT pipeline development, anddata warehousing.

Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation and orchestration.

Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such asTerraform,CloudFormation, orBicep.

Understanding of global compliance standards such asISO27001,GDPR, andPCI DSS.
