Senior Data Scientist

Role Purpose:

This role acts as a key driver of data-driven decision-making, providing actionable insights to support both internal teams and external partners. You will lead strategic data science initiatives, develop analytical solutions, and contribute to broader business intelligence efforts across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and deploy advanced analytical frameworks — including predictive models, customer segmentation strategies, and advertising optimization tools — to enhance business performance and customer engagement.
• Champion best practices in data science methodologies, tools, and scalable platforms.
• Define and implement internal standards and benchmarks to ensure data science excellence across the organization.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with various teams to gather business requirements, define data needs, resolve data architecture discrepancies, and ensure alignment with internal governance policies around customer data usage.
• Promote and maintain compliance with customer contact and data usage guidelines, ensuring data-driven initiatives include closed-loop performance measurement.
• Serve as an in-house expert on Mediacorp's data infrastructure, tools, and resources.
• Contribute to and support ad-hoc analyses, reporting, and strategic projects as needed.

Requirements:

• Master’s or PhD in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Operations Research.
• 5 years of hands-on experience developing and deploying data science models in a business setting.
• Demonstrated experience managing or leading data science teams.
• Deep technical expertise with a strong foundation in advanced analytics and machine learning techniques applied to real-world business challenges.
• Proficiency in at least one statistical tool (e.g., R, SAS, or similar).
• Skilled in programming with at least one language such as Python, Java, or C++.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with data engineering concepts and data architecture principles is a plus.
