Job description

Lead and mentor a team of data scientists to deliver cutting-edge analytics solutions that solve real business problems.

Contribute to the deployment of ensemble machine learning methods, deep learning, and advanced optimization techniques to address complex challenges.

Leverage research skills to test hypotheses and generate insights supporting industry-leading, resource-efficient copper mining.

Utilize modern cloud technologies, such as Microsoft Azure, to deliver scalable analytics solutions and visualize their impact for leadership.

Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of practical analytical assets using statistical methodologies to solve business problems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical engineering or analytical field (Statistics, Mathematics, etc.) or related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in data science, including a minimum of 3 years leading a Data Science team.
• Proven ability to manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of data scientists.
• Expertise in: Time-Series Analysis, NLP, Anomaly Detection, Survival Analysis.
• Proficiency in R and/or Python for data analysis and modeling.
• Experience with SQL/Hive environments and big data platforms.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-based machine learning tools, preferably Azure.
• A strategic thinker capable of translating data into actionable insights for business decisions.
• Proficient in English (verbal and written).
