Job summary

A leading engineering consultancy seeks a Senior Controls Engineer in Jakarta to lead the design and delivery of Building Management Systems for critical data centre projects. The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Process Automation and have over 5 years in controls engineering. Strong HVAC process automation knowledge and proficiency in Autodesk tools are essential. Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Controls Engineer in an MCF environment.
• Familiarity with ISO 22237 and EN 50600 regulations.
• Experience with emerging technologies like AI and ML.
• Strong HVAC process automation knowledge.
• Experience with SCADA, BMS/PMS/DCIM systems and emerging tech (AI, ML).
• Familiarity with ISO 22237, EN 50600, and related legislation.
• Proficient with Autodesk tools (viewing/mark-ups).
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management abilities.
• Able to work independently and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

Our Mission Critical Facilities (MCF) team is internationally recognised for delivering high-performance, resilient and sustainable datacenter resolutions for hyperscale, colocation and enterprise clients.

As Southeast Asia continues to experience rapid digital infrastructure growth, we are strengthening our regional MCF leadership capability and are seeking an experienced Senior Controls Engineer to drive technical excellence and delivery performance across major developments in APAC.

The role is open to candidates based in either Ho Chi Minh City or Jakarta. Given the regional nature of the position, periodic travel between both locations will be expected.

What will you do

As a Senior Controls Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Power Management Systems (PMS) for mission‑critical data centre projects. You’ll work with multidisciplinary teams, develop technical solutions, and ensure all designs meet industry standards and client requirements across both greenfield and brownfield projects.

What you bring

Must‑Have Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Process Automation, Mechatronics, Systems Design Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Consulting experience in data centres or similar industries.
• 5+ years as a Controls Engineer in an MCF environment, ideally data centres.
• Strong HVAC process automation knowledge.
• Experience with SCADA, BMS/PMS/DCIM systems and emerging tech (AI, ML).
• Familiarity with ISO 22237, EN 50600, and related legislation.
• Proficient with Autodesk tools (viewing/mark‑ups).
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and time‑management abilities.
• Able to work independently and travel as needed.

Preferred:

• Knowledge of NOCs, SOCs, and site radio systems.
