Overview

Location: UK, Ireland, Estonia, Netherlands, Sweden and Spain. The role is also available to contractors in other Eastern European locations / Portugal.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Cloud Architect, you will be part of our global CRE team, working with rapidly growing companies in EMEA and around the world. You will:

• Apply hands-on experience and consultative skills to address customers’ strategic and tactical needs around cloud technologies
• Grow technical and interpersonal skills by solving customer challenges and taking advantage of learning time allocated by the company
• Strengthen personal brand through thought leadership activities such as blogging, public speaking, and participation in technology events

Responsibilities and Areas of Focus

• Architect, deploy, and manage cloud-based AI/ML solutions; design scalable and resilient architectures on AWS and across multi-cloud environments
• Lead and support multi-cloud AI initiatives, leveraging AWS services (e.g., SageMaker, Bedrock, Lambda, EKS, Fargate) and related tools
• Develop data pipelines and ML workflows using AWS services (S3, Glue, Lake Formation, Redshift) and monitoring/observability using CloudWatch and SageMaker Model Monitor
• Implement end-to-end AI pipelines and real-time inference, including API endpoints and automation via Step Functions and API Gateway
• Advise on AI governance, security (IAM, KMS), and compliance, including bias detection and interpretability
• Mentor team members and enable cross-functional collaboration; facilitate knowledge sharing and hands-on workshops

Qualifications

Experience Requirement: Minimum of 4+ years of experience in architecting, deploying, and managing cloud-based AI/ML solutions.

Core AWS Expertise:

• Expertise in architecting, developing, and troubleshooting large production-grade distributed systems on AWS; selecting tools to address business problems at scale
• Advanced proficiency in AWS with a focus on Generative AI and machine learning services; AWS Solutions Architect Professional and/or AWS Machine Learning Specialty certifications
• Proven track record of architecting, deploying, and optimizing complex cloud solutions for AI-driven workloads

Generative AI and Cutting-Edge Technologies:

• Expertise in Amazon Bedrock for foundation models and scalable GenAI workloads
• Proficiency in fine-tuning and deploying LLMs and multimodal AI using SageMaker JumpStart and Hugging Face on AWS
• Experience with Amazon CodeWhisperer/CodeWhisperer Business and Developer for AI-powered coding productivity

Machine Learning Frameworks and Pipelines:

• Knowledge of SageMaker components (Pipelines, Model Monitor, Data Wrangler, SageMaker Clarify)
• Experience with distributed model training on multi-GPU clusters and high-performance inference

Data Engineering and AI Workflow Optimization:

• Proficiency building data pipelines with S3, AWS Glue, Lake Formation, Redshift for AI/ML workloads
• Experience optimizing data preparation for large-scale model training and inference

AI Integration and Deployment:

• End-to-end AI pipelines using AWS Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway; real-time inference and automation
• Familiarity with containerized AI deployments using EKS and Fargate

DevOps and MLOps Expertise:

• Hands-on CI/CD for AI/ML using CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and SageMaker Pipelines
• Monitoring and maintenance of AI systems with CloudWatch and SageMaker Model Monitor

AI Governance and Security:

• Strong understanding of AI governance, IAM, KMS, and compliance; bias detection and accountability with SageMaker Clarify

Emerging AI Trends:

• Awareness of RLHF, foundation model fine-tuning, hybrid AI architectures; experience with open-source tools like Hugging Face and AWS-native solutions

Knowledge of Multi-Cloud AI Tools:

• Familiarity with Google Cloud Vertex AI, AutoML, and BigQuery ML for multi-cloud integration

Mentoring and Enablement Skills:

• Ability to mentor team members and enable cross-functional collaboration; create knowledge-sharing platforms and hands-on workshops
