Job summary

Grab is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Consumer Experience (CX) Engineering team in Jakarta. You will design and build backend services in Go powering the login, home, and activity screens of the Grab app. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure availability, scalability, and performance.

Participate in code and design reviews, on-call incidents, and mentor peers. This onsite role offers the chance to influence platform architecture and shape end-to-end user journeys

Qualifications

Experience designing and building scalable backend systems.
Strong knowledge of Go and modern backend architectures.
Familiarity with code and design reviews, performance tuning, and monitoring.

Responsibilities

Design and implement backend services using Go to improve scalability and latency.
Collaborate with teams to define architectures for scale and performance.
Participate in code and design reviews to maintain high development standards.
Engage in capacity planning and performance tuning.
Collaborate with product and UX teams to prototype feature specifications.
Work with infrastructure on building and scaling services and root cause analysis.
Design, build, analyze and fix large-scale systems.
Debug production incidents during on-call shifts.
Provide mentorship and knowledge sharing to peers.
