Our client is entering a major technology transformation phase, where reliable backend systems, scalable software architecture, infrastructure, cybersecurity, database reliability, DevOps, and IT operations will play a critical role in future growth. We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join the engineering team.

Position Overview

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain reliable backend services and APIs that support critical business applications. You will work closely with engineering leaders, product, infrastructure, security, database, DevOps, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable systems.

Responsibilities

• Backend Development
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services, APIs, integrations, and business logic.
  • Write clean, scalable, maintainable, and well‑documented code.
  • Improve system reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• System Design & Architecture
  • Contribute to backend architecture, service design, data flow, and integration patterns.
  • Support the design of scalable systems for high‑volume business operations.
  • Identify technical risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaboration & Delivery
  • Work closely with product, QA, DevOps, infrastructure, security, and database teams.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, troubleshooting, and production issue resolution.
  • Support delivery planning, estimation, and engineering best practices.
• Quality, Security & Reliability
  • Ensure backend services follow secure coding practices and reliability standards.
  • Support monitoring, logging, debugging, and incident resolution.
  • Help improve testing, CI/CD readiness, and operational stability.

Requirements

• Solid professional experience as a Backend Engineer, Software Engineer, or similar backend‑focused role.
• Strong backend engineering fundamentals, including API design, databases, system design, debugging, and performance optimization.
• Experience with modern backend technologies such as Java, Go, Node.js, Python, PHP, or similar languages.
• Experience working with relational or non‑relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, Redis, or similar technologies.
• Familiarity with microservices, REST APIs, message queues, cloud infrastructure, containers, or CI/CD is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams in a structured engineering environment.
• Good communication skills, ownership mindset, and willingness to work in a large‑scale technology transformation environment.
• Experience in fintech, banking, enterprise systems, high‑transaction platforms, marketplace, SaaS, or large‑scale internal systems is a plus.
