Job summary

Managem Group is seeking an experienced Automation Leader for our BOTO site in Senegal. The role focuses on overseeing maintenance, reliability, and performance of PLC/SCADA/DCS systems, with emphasis on Siemens platforms.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, drive automation projects, and advance digitalization within a demanding industrial setting. Ideal candidates have 6+ years in SCADA/DCS/Siemens programming and a strong background in power electronics, instrumentation, and electrical

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Automation or Automated Systems.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in SCADA, DCS, and Siemens-based automation programming.
• Experience in industrial or mining environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the technical and strategic supervision of maintenance activities for automation systems and infrastructure across the site.
• Ensure optimal availability of all automated systems by guaranteeing their reliability, performance, and compliance.
• Lead the overall management of automation infrastructure, including planning system updates and monitoring performance.
• Maintain, optimize, and modify automation programs (PLCs, SCADA, DCS) in line with operational requirements.
• Lead the development and integration of new automation projects: technical studies, design, programming, and commissioning.
• Propose and drive initiatives for continuous improvement, energy optimization, and digitalization of automated processes.
• Support and supervise field teams (electricians, mechanics, instrumentation technicians) in complex diagnostics and skills development.
• Contribute to technology watch and the integration of innovative solutions in line with the site's industrial modernization strategy.

Main Responsibilities

Required Skills And Competencies

• Proven expertise in PLCs, DCS, and automation systems (especially Siemens): Configuration, Programming, Tuning, Troubleshooting, Updates, and Maintenance.
• Strong command of SCADA / DCS systems, particularly Siemens platforms (TIA Portal, WinCC, etc.).
• In-depth knowledge of power electronics and industrial electrical installations, with a solid grounding in mechanical systems.
• Cross-disciplinary knowledge in instrumentation, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Strong technical leadership skills, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Analytical and strategic thinking with a performance-driven mindset.
• Highly organized, rigorous, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
• Proactive, autonomous, and accountable.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
• Ability to work effectively in a demanding, high-pressure industrial environment.

Education

Engineering degree in Automation or Automated Systems.

Experience

Minimum of 6 years of experience in SCADA, DCS, and Siemens-based automation programming, preferably in an industrial or mining environment.
