Job summary

SMCA is seeking a Senior Auditor to lead day-to-day audit work, coordinate fieldwork, and guide Associates while ensuring conclusions are supported by evidence.

You will review working papers, perform substantive procedures, and communicate findings to the Audit Manager. The role requires Indonesian proficiency and a background in PSAK/IFRS auditing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• External audit experience sufficient to lead assigned fieldwork and supervise junior staff.
• Working knowledge of applicable auditing standards and financial reporting frameworks (PSAK/IFRS).
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to document sound conclusions.
• Effective communication, time management and team coordination skills.
• Professional proficiency in Indonesian; English proficiency is an advantage.

Job description

The Senior Auditor leads the day-to-day execution of assigned audit work. The role coordinates fieldwork, guides Associates, performs and reviews audit procedures, and communicates findings to the Audit Manager. The Senior Auditor ensures that work is completed on time and that audit conclusions are supported by sufficient, appropriate evidence.

Key responsibilities

Support audit planning by obtaining an understanding of the client's business, processes, and internal controls, and assist in identifying risks and preparing audit programs and information requests.

Lead fieldwork by coordinating the team's daily activities, assigning tasks to Associates, monitoring progress, and following up on outstanding client information.

Perform audit procedures, including substantive procedures, tests of controls, analytical procedures, and financial statement tie-outs.

Review working papers prepared by Associates for accuracy, completeness, clear documentation, and consistency with the audit program.

Investigate exceptions and differences, assess their potential impact, and discuss proposed follow-up procedures or adjustments with the Audit Manager.

Prepare clear working papers that explain the procedures performed, evidence obtained, issues identified, and conclusions reached.

Coordinate routine information requests and discuss audit queries with client personnel professionally and promptly.

Assist with the review of financial statements and disclosures, resolution of review notes, evaluation of misstatements, and completion of assigned audit documentation.

Provide instructions, on-the-job guidance, and constructive feedback to junior team members to help them develop their audit skills.

Follow applicable auditing standards, ethical and independence requirements, and the firm's audit methodology, and **escalate** significant or unusual matters promptly.

About you

Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to document sound conclusions.
