Job summary

YYC Group is seeking a Senior Associate, Tax to join our growing taxation team in Bandar Botanic, Klang. You will provide comprehensive tax advisory services and technical support to clients across industries, contributing to the strategic growth of our taxation practice.

You will handle tax compliance, advisory work, and research, while mentoring junior team members and staying updated on tax legislation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or taxation is required.
• 3-5 years' post-qualification experience in taxation is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian tax law including income tax, GST/SST, and corporate taxation.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and reviewing tax compliance documentation including corporate income tax and personal income tax returns.
• Providing tax advisory services on corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, transfer pricing, and planning strategies.
• Conducting tax research and analysis using current legislation, rulings, and case law.
• Supporting clients in responding to tax authority queries and managing tax audit processes.
• Assisting with the preparation of tax memoranda and advisory reports for clients and internal stakeholders.
• Managing relationships with clients and coordinating with tax authorities on compliance matters.
• Mentoring and supervising junior team members on assigned projects.
• Staying current with changes in tax legislation and sharing knowledge with the team.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive tax advisory services and technical support to our clients across various industries. You will play a key part in delivering high-quality tax solutions whilst contributing to the strategic growth of our taxation practice. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse and complex tax matters, working closely with senior team members and clients to ensure compliance and optimise tax positions.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing and reviewing tax compliance documentation, including corporate income tax returns, personal income tax returns, and other statutory filings
• Providing tax advisory services on matters including corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, transfer pricing, and tax planning strategies
• Conducting tax research and analysis on complex tax issues, utilising current legislation, rulings, and case law
• Supporting clients in responding to tax authority queries and managing tax audit processes
• Assisting with the preparation of tax memoranda and advisory reports for clients and internal stakeholders
• Managing relationships with clients and coordinating with tax authorities on compliance matters

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor's degree or Professional qualification in accounting or taxation (such as ACCA, CA, CPA, or equivalent recognised qualification)
• Minimum of 3-5 years' post-qualification experience in taxation, ideally within a professional tax advisory firm or large in-house tax department
• Strong technical knowledge of Malaysian tax law and regulations, including income tax, GST/SST, and corporate taxation
• Proven experience in tax compliance, tax planning, and advisory work
