Ajaib Group is hiring a mid to senior Analytics Engineer to join the Analytics & Data Engineering team in Jakarta. You will own the transformation layer, turning raw data into trusted, well-modeled datasets powering analytics, reporting, and ML use cases across the company.

You will design and maintain dbt models on BigQuery, own data domains, ensure data quality, and collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into actionable datasets and metrics.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as Analytics Engineer, Data Engineer, or Data Analyst with SQL/modeling focus.
• Strong SQL skills, including window functions and performance optimization on cloud data warehouses.
• Production dbt experience (sources, models, tests, macros, snapshots, exposures).
• Hands-on BigQuery or equivalent cloud data warehouse experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain dbt models on BigQuery following modular transformation patterns (staging -> intermediate -> marts).
• Own end-to-end data domains, including projects, data quality, documentation, and stakeholder trust.
• Investigate data anomalies, collaborate with upstream engineers to resolve root causes, and avoid patching with workarounds.
• Work with analysts, PMs, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into well-modeled datasets and clear metrics.
• Contribute to governance: access control, taxonomy, naming conventions, model ownership, and CI/CD for dbt.
• Optimize BigQuery cost and performance via partitioning, clustering, and incremental models.
• Collaborate with data engineers on upstream pipelines (CDC, streaming, batch) to fit downstream modeling needs.
• Identify gaps and propose AE initiatives to improve testing, semantic layers, and tooling.
• Mentor junior analytics engineers and review PRs.
