General Job Summary – ESU Security Program Manager, International
We are looking for an Emergency Services Security Program Manager (SPM) to join a global team of professionals responsible for providing the best in emergency response, risk reduction, and security services at Amazon locations outside of the United States. This security professional will participate in the leadership of day-to-day Emergency Services Unit (ESU) operations, key customer engagements, budget management, strategic planning, and performance measurement.
This person will possess a background in building teams dedicated to protecting people, places, and assets through industry-related best practices while seeking innovative ways to accomplish the team’s mission. This person will also show a passion for developing and fostering strong networks across multiple disciplines to ensure the best outcomes for our customers. Key Job Responsibilities
- Proactively identify gaps in protection, emergency response, physical security, and quality of life experience for our customers and work with key stakeholders to address these gaps.
- Establish credibility and maintain strong working relationships with applicable federal, state, and local law enforcement and emergency services, federal non-law enforcement personnel, intelligence or fusion centers, private security teams, and internal security partners to identify, evaluate, and mitigate risk.
- Help build a crisis and incident management standard, ensuring a consistent process for crisis/incident management efforts, maintaining response readiness and system effectiveness, and driving continuous improvement of policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines.
- Facilitate short- and long-term strategies for ESU initiatives, developing roadmaps with actionable and auditable plans, defining requirements for each initiative, and leading cross-functional internal and external teams.
- Execute initiatives focused on enhancing the protection of life, property, operations, and company reputation.
- Demonstrate strong leadership behaviors and model behaviors that exemplify Amazon Leadership Principles.
- Work to achieve team goals that optimize performance, enhance employee development, and align with department objectives.
- Ensure tasks are completed, resolve employee issues, evaluate employee performance, approve time off, etc.
- Maintain high performance standards through inspections, audits, and coaching.
- Design and coordinate cohesive responses to security events that involve multiple teams across the organization.
- Make data-driven decisions, implement best practices, and deliver results.
- Develop comprehensive security, incident management, and crisis management plans that align with our customers’ existing security plans, procedures, and protocols.
- Conduct Tabletop Exercises (TTX) and/or emergency drills across impacted teams.
Basic Qualifications
- Four-year degree or equivalent in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, International Security, Business Management, or related fields.
- Minimum 35 - 45 years old
- Ability to discuss, plan, and describe security-related strategies in English and the assigned country’s native language(s)/dialects.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience serving in or directly coordinating with federal, state, or local law enforcement agencies.
- Ability to maintain situational awareness over multiple areas of responsibility.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to develop and implement action plans.
- Strong relationship-building skills with customers, partners, and employees at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven experience in developing and fostering networks across multiple agencies, disciplines, and levels of government.
- First-line supervisory experience.
- Experience with the implementation of Lean management principles.
- Experience in planning and executing security operations for special events.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting fact-finding investigations, administrative reviews, and criminal investigations.
- Knowledge and experience with security-related technology solutions and applications.
- Strong metrics development skills and experience in conducting performance audits.
- Experience in threat intelligence collection and analysis.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to think clearly, problem-solve, define technical/process requirements, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to meet or exceed Amazon’s Leadership Principles for this role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
