Job summary

A logistics and freight forwarding company in Indonesia is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee sea export operations. This role includes managing daily activities, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Successful candidates will lead a high-performing team, negotiate rates with carriers, and resolve logistics challenges. A bachelor's degree in Logistics or related field and strong managerial experience in the logistics industry are preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a similar managerial role within the logistics or freight forwarding industry.
• Strong understanding of logistics processes, modes of transportation, and customs regulations.
• Ability to motivate, manage, and develop a team.
• Demonstrated ability to secure favorable rates with carriers and vendors.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all import and export freight movements from origin to destination.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyze operational performance.
• Develop strategies to increase productivity and enhance operational efficiency.
• Ensure all customs and shipping documentation are processed accurately.
• Provide leadership and support to the operations team.
• Conduct performance reviews and oversee training.
• Plan and manage the department’s budget.
• Address customer inquiries and complaints, ensuring satisfaction.
• Secure favorable freight rates by negotiating with carriers.
• Maintain strong relationships with carriers, agents, and logistics providers.
• Stay informed about changes in shipping regulations and safety standards.
