Job Title: Sales Representative

Location: Tumbak Bayuh, Bali, Indonesia

Job Type: Full-time (base salary + commission)

Sungai Design is a sustainable furniture brand that transforms plastic waste collected from Indonesia’s rivers into high-quality, one-of-a-kind products. We have received international recognition for our innovation and design and have a growing social media presence of over 260k followers on Instagram. As we continue to expand, we are looking to hire our first Sales Representative to oversee our sales operations and help us scale our business.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Sales Representative who will take charge of driving Sungai Design's sales across all e-commerce channels, in-person events and fairs, and help us scale our sales channels. This individual will be responsible for pitching our products, handling incoming sales inquiries, and driving growth in both direct sales and partnerships. The role is ideal for someone with a hard working ethic, a strong drive to succeed, and a passion for sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement strategies to generate sales and meet sales targets. This includes coming up with new industries to pitch Sungai Design products to and thinking of new sales avenues and opportunities.
  • Cold Calling & Lead Generation: Cold call as many potential clients daily, reaching out to businesses, retailers, and individuals interested in sustainable furniture.
  • Maintaining Relationships with Previous and New Clients: Managing and maintaining a close and professional relationship with all Sungai Design clients to maximize future sales.
  • Sales Forecasting & Reporting: Track and manage sales forecasts and orders, providing daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports to the management team.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Respond to emails and inquiries promptly, ensuring all messages are handled professionally and efficiently.
  • E-Commerce Management: Assist with managaing Sungai Design’s online store and Shopify platform, ensuring products are listed correctly, orders are processed efficiently, and customer issues are addressed. Work closely with Sungai Design’s Logistics and Project management teams to ensure products are dispatched timely and communicate with clients on delivery status of products.
  • Event & Market Attendance: Represent Sungai Design at events, fairs, conferences, and pop-up markets, aiming to sell the maximum amount of products and increase brand awareness. Brainstorm with Sungai Design management to make the booth and event presence as impactful as possible. Be responsible for setting up the booth and bringing all collateral materials during the events.
  • Marketing collaboration & Support: Work closely with the marketing team to ensure alignment between sales efforts and ongoing marketing campaigns.
  • Pitching & Presenting: Be able to effectively present the brand’s sustainability story to potential clients and partners, building long-term relationships and making sure that the full story comes across as a main selling point.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven experience in sales, preferably in e-commerce, retail, or sustainable products.
  • Skills: Strong ability to pitch, close deals, and manage customer relationships. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Excellent public speaking skills.
  • Languages: Fluent in both English and Indonesian (spoken and written). Additional languages are a plus.
  • E-Commerce Expertise: Strong understanding of e-commerce platforms, online sales processes, and digital marketing, specifically Shopify.
  • Work Ethic: A proactive go-getter with a strong drive for success and the ability to work independently.
  • Location: Must be based in Bali.
  • Ability to travel and work independently: Able to travel alone for meetings and to fairs as the Sungai Design sales representative. Must be independent and confident in conference settings.
  • Passion for Sustainability: A strong understanding of and passion for sustainability and the environment, with the ability to clearly communicate Sungai Design’s mission and values.

Compensation:

  • Base salary of IDR 6,000,000, with the potential to earn a 5% commission based on sales revenue performance.
  • Commission will be the primary income, so there is significant earning potential for motivated individuals.
