Key Accountabilities

  1. Derive Business Strategy and Objectives
  • Contribute to the development of sales, marketing, customer retention, advertising, pricing, and distribution strategies.
  • Build strong partnerships with Key Accounts / Distributors and continuously assess and revise the route to market.
  • Customer Orientation
    • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with customers.
    • Negotiate sales with existing and new key customers.
    • Provide ongoing support to high-value clients and ensure high-quality customer service.
    • Identify customer needs and opportunities by analyzing sales gaps and develop strategies to address them.
    • Act as a liaison between clients and company departments.
    • Understand outlet sales operations, including merchandising and ordering processes.
    • Possess detailed product knowledge and understanding of client businesses.
    • Monitor business activities to ensure alignment with company strategy.
  • Business Process Development and Implementation
    • Manage the entire channel sales process to meet and exceed targets.
    • Ensure timely listing of new products and successful launches.
    • Develop competencies and processes for an effective sales organization.
    • Maintain healthy accounts receivable levels.
  • Enhance Sales Activities for Cost and Process Efficiency
    • Prepare sales forecasts and budgets; monitor performance against these metrics.
    • Manage trade budgets and negotiations within allocated limits.
    • Maintain trade return rates within company objectives and uphold good market hygiene practices.
    • Maximize ROI by evaluating sales and trade investments monthly.
  • Market Intelligence
    • Stay updated on market trends, movements, and practices.
    • Maintain knowledge of competitors’ activities to adapt strategies.
    • Proactively identify industry changes and adjust strategies accordingly.

    Skills required:

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in business development or related fields.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in key account management in FMCG or pharmacy channels.
    • Strong analytical, negotiation, customer service, presentation, and results-oriented skills.
    • Proficiency in MS Office.
    • Excellent command of English; Chinese and Malay are a plus.
    • Self-initiator with high accountability.
    • Entrepreneurial mindset, high sense of urgency, ability to work under pressure.
    • Positive attitude and can-do spirit.
