Job Description
  • Create and enforce site-specific safety management plans, ensuring full compliance with national regulations and company standards.
  • Conduct regular hazard identification and risk assessments, addressing potential safety concerns before they become operational hazards.
  • Lead investigations into safety incidents, preparing reports and making recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Organize and facilitate safety training for employees and contractors to ensure a culture of safety awareness.
  • Perform regular safety audits and inspections, ensuring the site meets all legal requirements and best practices for environmental and worker safety.
  • Develop, test, and maintain effective emergency response strategies and systems.
  • Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders, such as government regulators, to ensure all safety and environmental regulations are met.
The Successful Applicant
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Mining Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in mining industry (mineral) preferably handled smelter operation.
  • Proven track record of successful exploration and development of nickel or other base metals.
  • Strong technical expertise in geological modelling, geochemistry, and geophysics.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work in remote and challenging environments.
