The Job
We seek a professional with extensive experience in petrochemicals, chemicals, polymers, or minerals processing to join our team. Reporting to the Project Director, this role is responsible for leading Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) activities at Ambercycle. The role involves developing, implementing, and managing the SHE system across the site, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
Accountabilities
- Uphold and represent the company's safety culture in meetings, site visits, and activities.
- Create and establish safety protocols, standards, and training programs.
- Ensure plant and process safety standards are maintained from design through operation.
- Respond to emergency situations related to hazards, fire, environmental, or security issues.
- Coordinate with local authorities on safety, fire, security, and environmental matters.
- Maintain the reliability of safety and emergency response equipment.
- Ensure all work is performed safely as Safety Manager.
- Assist and advise the Shift Manager/Site Incident Commander during emergencies.
- Organize safety drills and training sessions.
- Conduct safety assessments to identify improvements, including risk assessments and safety inputs into the risk register.
- Train and develop an effective Emergency Response Team.
- Enforce safety policies and regulations.
- Review and update safety, health, and environment procedures.
- Perform safety audits and inspections of facilities and equipment.
- Identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Assess engineering controls and PPE standards.
- Have authority to stop work if safety is compromised.
- Promote safety awareness and good housekeeping among employees and contractors.
- Lead safety and health initiatives in accordance with regulations and policies.
- Model compliant behavior regarding policies and regulations.
- Manage industrial waste disposal per government regulations.
- Chair the Safety Committee.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the welfare of all shift employees and manage the Emergency Response Team.
- Develop, build, and train safety teams with a positive, professional attitude.
- Ensure scheduled safety and fire training programs are executed.
- Test and maintain emergency response and firefighting equipment.
- Liaise with authorities and obtain necessary safety certifications.
- Conduct safety and emergency response training.
- Communicate safety policies and enforce regulations.
- Monitor and report on corrective actions from safety investigations and audits.
- Supervise contractors for safety compliance.
- Develop plans to monitor and resolve occupational health issues.
- Coordinate project safety efforts among all parties involved.
- Provide guidance and mentorship on safety initiatives, fostering a team-oriented environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Over 10 years of experience in SHE roles.
- At least 5 years recent experience in petrochemicals, chemicals, minerals, or polymers manufacturing.
- At least 5 years supervising occupational health and safety in manufacturing.
- Experience developing and conducting safety training.
- Certified General Occupational Safety and Health Expert (Ahli K3 Umum).
- Certified Firefighters Expert (Ahli Pemadam Kebakaran).
Preferred Qualifications
- 10-15 years in SHE roles.
- Recent experience in petrochemicals, chemicals, minerals, or polymers manufacturing.
- Experience leading occupational health and safety in manufacturing environments.
- Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
- Knowledge of risk management, emergency management, and environmental impact reduction.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated integrity, initiative, and team-building abilities.
- Technical skills in hazard prevention, safety program development, and asset management.
The position is full-time and based in Gresik, East Java, Indonesia.
