Job description

Overview

At Change Grow Live, we believe that change is possible for everyone. We work alongside people experiencing some of life’s most complex challenges — including street-based activity, insecure accommodation, and substance use — offering respectful, person-centred support that begins with empathy and builds toward meaningful, lasting change.

Our Camden Routes off the Street (RTS) service is now looking for a resilient, compassionate, and dynamic Team Leader to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a committed and skilled team working at the heart of street outreach and holistic engagement.

About the Camden RTS Service

Camden RTS is not a traditional support model — it’s a visible, collaborative presence and a pathway toward stability. We’re out on the streets every day, connecting with people in public spaces and at our central HUB, building trust through consistent, compassionate engagement.

Through close partnership working with a range of organisations, we take a creative and person-centred approach to help individuals move away from street-based lifestyles. Our work focuses on providing holistic, tailored support to meet each person's unique needs. This includes:

  • Helping rough sleepers access and move into safe, suitable accommodation.

  • Supporting people who have become homeless in London but have connections elsewhere to return home in a planned and supported way.

  • Operating a multi-agency hub in Camden Town (Greenland Street), where individuals can access a wide range of support services delivered by CGL and partner organisations.

  • Enabling people who use drugs or alcohol to access treatment and ongoing support.

  • Supporting individuals with physical and mental health needs to connect with the right healthcare services.

  • Tackling anti-social behaviour through joint working with Camden Council, the police, and other enforcement partners.

This is a generic leadership role, meaning you’ll need to be flexible and confident across all aspects of service delivery — from outreach to managing our HUB building and workers.

You will provide day-to-day guidance, supervision, and operational oversight, creating a positive, inclusive team culture where staff feel supported to do their best work. We’re looking for someone who leads by example, stays calm under pressure, and brings clarity, compassion, and curiosity to their leadership style.

The ideal candidate will be organised, adaptable, and deeply committed to improving outcomes for people experiencing multiple disadvantages. You’ll have strong experience in managing risk, nurturing external partnerships, and delivering high-quality, person-centred support in a fast-paced environment.

What It’s Like Working in Camden

Camden is a unique borough — vibrant, diverse, and socially rich. It's also a place where deep inequality and social exclusion can be stark. Working in Camden means being part of a compassionate, values-led professional community, committed to addressing these issues head-on. The work is fast-paced and constantly evolving, but also incredibly rewarding. Every day offers a new chance to make a real and lasting impact.

The Role: What You’ll Do
  • Provide operational leadership and line management to a diverse and skilled team.

  • Offer regular reflective supervision, performance management, and development support.

  • Step in to lead or cover shifts as needed across the outreach and HUB functions.

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and solution-focused team culture.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with local partners and key stakeholders.

  • Ensure safeguarding practices are fully embedded and responsive to risk and need.

  • Support the Service Manager in evolving and improving service delivery.

  • Model best practice in trauma-informed, person-centred, and strengths-based work.

About You
  • You bring experience working with people affected by homelessness, street activity, and/or substance use.

  • You’re a strong and compassionate leader with the ability to inspire and support others.

  • You understand the importance of flexibility and are comfortable leading in a responsive, fast-moving environment.

  • You have excellent knowledge of safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, and risk management.

  • You’re confident in building effective, respectful relationships with people and partners alike.

  • You stay calm under pressure, take initiative, and lead with integrity.

  • You’re committed to inclusion, equity, and helping people thrive.

What We Offer
  • 25 days’ annual leave (rising to 30 within first five years) plus bank holidays

  • A weekly Wellness Hour and access to our Employee Assistance Programme

  • Pension scheme, cycle-to-work scheme, and discounts on shopping, cinema and more

  • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities

  • Refer a Friend Scheme.
