Job summary

Canonical is seeking a Senior Ubuntu Embedded IoT System Engineer based remotely in the EMEA region. You will represent Canonical with leading OEMs and provide software and system engineering services while improving Ubuntu for millions of users.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in Linux systems and holds at least a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. This role requires collaboration with hardware teams and offers opportunities for international travel.

Qualifications

• A bachelor or higher degree in STEM, preferably Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
• Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university.
• Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills.
• Familiar with Linux boot-up process and kernel architecture.
• Ability to learn fast to work on cutting-edge technologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide software and system engineering services for OEM and ODM customers.
• Work closely with partners on platform bring-up.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and facilitate communication between teams.
