Job summary

Percona Support is a remote team of PostgreSQL experts helping customers diagnose complex database issues. You will gather data, analyze problems, and provide detailed reports via email or chat, with screen-sharing for critical cases. When not fixing issues, you’ll create blogs, answer forum questions, and contribute to the knowledge base and webinars.

This is a remote role with global scope. Strong PostgreSQL skills, backup and HA experience, and English communication are essential; Kubernetes

Qualifications

• Hands-on PostgreSQL knowledge with ecosystem tools.
• Experience with performance tuning, query optimization, and index tuning.
• Experience with backup solutions such as pg_base_backup, pgBackRest and WAL-G, plus PITR.
• Experience with high availability solutions (replication, routers, proxies).
• Exposure to zero-downtime procedures.
• Strong Linux-based system administration.
• Ability to troubleshoot methodically and think outside the box.
• Experience working with customers in English.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Help customers’ DBA teams by gathering data, analyzing issues, and delivering findings via email, chat, or voice.
• Conduct screen-sharing sessions for production-impacting issues to resolve problems quickly.
• Author blog posts for the open-source community, answer questions on forums, and contribute to knowledge bases.
• Participate in webinars and other knowledge-sharing activities.
