Job summary

Canonical is seeking a Software Maintenance Engineer to resolve complex customer problems related to Ubuntu and open-source software. This remote position allows you to collaborate across the Linux stack and work with teams around the world.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in Computer Science or a related field, experience with Linux, and proficiency in programming languages like Python or C++. You will be involved in developing bug fixes and engaging with upstream communities.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex customer problems related to Ubuntu, Ceph, OpenStack, or Kubernetes.
• Maintain close working relationships with Canonical’s engineering teams.
• Review code produced by other engineers.

Skills

Experience with Linux and open‑source software

Experience with at least one of Python, Go, C or C++ on Linux
