Job summary

VentureSEA is seeking a Software Development Engineer (Fullstack) for a remote role in Jakarta. You will review architectures, build secure, scalable systems, and own CI/CD pipelines while delivering RESTful APIs and rich frontend UIs with React/Next.js.

The position requires a minimum of 3 years in fullstack development, experience with Git, CI/CD, and security best practices, and strong collaboration skills for cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in fullstack software development.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs, and working with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Practical experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, Jenkins).
• Working knowledge of application security principles, including OWASP Top 10 and secure coding practices.
• Experience with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows, including code review.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Review current application architecture, codebase, and dependencies to identify design gaps, technical debt, and security weaknesses.
• Recommend and implement improvements to system design, modularity, performance, and maintainability.
• Conduct peer code reviews and uphold coding standards, design patterns, and best practices across the team.
• Assess and document architectural decisions, trade-offs, and associated risks.
• Design, set up, and maintain CI/CD pipelines covering build, automated testing, security scanning, and deployment.
• Integrate security controls into the pipeline, including SAST, DAST, dependency/SCA scanning, secrets detection, and container image scanning.
• Implement secure-by-design practices such as least-privilege access, secrets management, and environment segregation.
• Define and monitor quality gates, and drive remediation of findings with the development team.
• Fullstack Application Development: Build responsive, accessible UIs using React, Next.js, and HTML/CSS.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs, data models, and integrations with internal and third-party services.
• Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests (e.g. Jest, Vitest, Playwright, Cypress).
• Participate in release planning, deployment, and post-release verification.
• Operational Support & Reliability: Support deployed applications, troubleshoot, root cause analysis, and defect resolution.
• Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting to improve observability and incident response.
• Optimize performance, scalability, and resource utilization in Next.js, including render strategies.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues suitable for automation.
• Documentation & Knowledge Management: Produce and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, API specs, and runbooks.
• Document pipeline configuration, deployment procedures, and security controls.
• Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to team members and support teams.
