Job summary

The Elite Job is seeking a detail-oriented Remote E-book Formatter with strong expertise in Microsoft Word and Canva to transform manuscripts into beautifully designed, reader-friendly e-books. You will ensure professional, polished finishes for distribution across platforms, working collaboratively with authors and editors in a remote setting.

Minimum 1–2 years in e-book formatting or desktop publishing, with portfolio preferred.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Word with advanced formatting skills.
• Experience with Canva for e-book cover design and internal graphics.
• Knowledge of e-book formats (ePub, PDF, mobi) and conversion tools.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage time effectively.
• Basic typography, layout design, and publishing standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Format and design e-books using Microsoft Word and Canva, ensuring consistency and visual appeal across all pages.
• Convert manuscripts and content into professional e-book formats (ePub, PDF, mobi) optimized for different devices and platforms.
• Collaborate with authors, editors, and project managers to understand formatting requirements and ensure client satisfaction.
• Apply appropriate typography, layouts, chapter headings, page breaks, tables of contents, and image placements.
• Ensure all e-books meet technical specifications and quality standards for various e-readers and distribution platforms.
• Proofread formatted e-books for typographical errors, formatting inconsistencies, and graphical alignment issues.
• Stay updated on industry trends, formatting software updates, and best practices in e-book publishing.
