Job summary

ClientEarth in Jakarta is seeking a Head of Resources, Energy, Mobility (REM) for Japan and Southeast Asia. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team across London, Brussels, Tokyo, Manila, Jakarta, Sydney and the US to deliver transformational change at the intersection of REM with Food, Oceans, and Land Use.

The role reports to the Acting Associate Director for Japan and Southeast Asia, focusing on regional strategy, program delivery across time zones, and advancing ClientEarth’s global mission

Qualifications

• Law degree focusing on Japanese or a Southeast Asian law.
• Strategic leadership and management experience.
• Experience of designing and managing programmatic work in the not-for-profit sector including project, time zone management.

Responsibilities

• Define Regional System Strategy - Leads annual strategy implementation development during annual planning with respect to their system for their region.
• Regional System Delivery - Line manages the Japan Representative, Lead Lawyers, Senior Lawyers and Programme Manager in the REM team to ensure delivery of REM workstreams, projects and activities in Japan, Indonesia, the Philippines and broader Southeast Asia employing the full range of ClientEarth’s tools, including advocacy and other legal interventions, building the field, and supporting partners local and regional partners.
