Job summary

MatchaTalent seeks an experienced R&D Manager—Sports Nutrition & Nutraceuticals—to lead the full product development lifecycle for innovative sports nutrition products in Tangerang, Indonesia. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Food Science/Technology or related field required.
• 5+ years in R&D within dietary supplements/functional foods.
• 2–3+ years in a managerial role overseeing R&D teams.
• Experience leading end-to-end product development and commercialization.
• Strong knowledge of BPOM, Halal, GMP, HACCP and quality standards.
• Fluency in English for technical documentation and vendor communication.
• Hands-on formulation, lab trials, scale-up, and tech transfer.
• Ability to improve COGS, optimize cost per serving, and manage timelines.
• Leadership, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Passion for fitness, sports nutrition, and consumer health trends.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end R&D and product development for sports nutrition, supplements, nutraceuticals, and functional foods.
• Translate trends and business needs into viable product concepts and formulations.
• Develop formulations across powders, capsules, tablets, RTDs, and other formats.
• Oversee lab trials for taste, solubility, stability, and sensory optimization.
• Manage concept through scale-up and commercial launch, including tech transfer to manufacturing.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with BPOM, Halal, GMP, HACCP and quality standards.
• Maintain audit-ready R&D docs, specs, SOPs, and development protocols.
• Mentor Supervisors and Staff; define KPIs and development plans.
• Benchmark competitors and provide technical/commercial recommendations to leadership.
