A leading FMCG company in Jakarta Utara is seeking an experienced R&D Manager to lead the development of innovative food products. You will establish strategies, manage end-to-end product development, and monitor market trends. Job Purpose
Lead the Research & Development team in designing, developing, and improving food products that are innovative, market-relevant, and aligned with the company’s quality standards.
Develop short- and long-term R&D strategies in line with company objectives.
Lead the end-to-end product development process: from concept, formulation, pilot trials, to commercialization.
Drive innovation for existing products to improve quality, cost efficiency, and competitiveness.
Monitor market trends, consumer insights, and food technology developments to identify new opportunities.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Production, Quality Assurance, Export, and B2B Sales teams to ensure products meet regulations, customer requirements, quality, and timelines.
Manage and coach the R&D team, building capabilities and fostering innovation.
Prepare and present R&D progress reports and project updates to management.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Technology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or related fields.
Minimum 7 years of experience in R&D, with at least 3 years in a managerial role (FMCG background preferred).
Strong knowledge of product formulation, food processing, and local food regulations.
Proven track record in managing end-to-end product development projects.
Experience in supporting export markets or B2B customers is a plus.
Ability to translate consumer and market trends into innovative food products.
Strong leadership, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
Proficiency in English (both written and spoken).
