A leading company in the cooling technology sector is looking for an R&D Engineer. The role involves conducting research and development on cooling tower systems, where you'll focus on thermal performance, structural design, and energy efficiency. DESCRIPTION:
Conduct Research and Development on Cooling Tower Systems, focusing on thermal performance, structural design, noise reduction, and energy efficiency.
Develop and test new designs, components, and materials to improve product durability, corrosion resistance, and cost-effectiveness.
Design 3D models and mechanical drawings using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
Perform thermal calculations, CFD analysis (if applicable), and flow simulations to validate design concepts.
Lead or assist in prototype development, functional testing, and performance benchmarking of new cooling tower models.
Conduct failure analysis, identify root causes of product issues, and recommend design improvements.
Work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure design feasibility, cost optimization, and production scalability.
Prepare and maintain R&D documentation, including technical reports, test results, and engineering change proposals.
Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., CTI, ASHRAE) and applicable safety and environmental regulations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Production, QA/QC, and Sales to support product development and customer-specific solutions.
Monitor industry trends, new technologies, and competitor products to guide innovation.
Support patent applications or documentation for intellectual property, if applicable.
REQUIREMENT:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
1–3 years of relevant experience in R&D, mechanical design, or thermal systems; fresh graduates with strong project experience are welcome to apply.
Solid understanding of heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and mechanical design principles.
Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD); experience in simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, CFD) is a strong advantage.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think analytically and creatively.
Hands-on experience with prototype testing, data collection, and technical documentation.
Good communication skills in English, Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is a plus for supplier or customer engagement.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and within a team.
Willing to work in the factory/lab environment at Sg Buloh Factory and travel occasionally for field validation or customer site support.
