Job Description:

  1. Perform as an access Security Guard at various ship access points when in port.
  2. Carry out security patrols of the ship's public and service areas, including fire round patrols as directed by the Chief Officer Safety.
  3. Maintain a professional demeanor at all times, reflecting the Company’s image of excellence, as Security Guard or Fireguard.
  4. Control access of people, property, and stores onto and off the vessel, including processing guest and crew carry-on items through X-ray equipment and observing through the gangway metal arch scanner.
  5. Conduct pat-down searches of personnel as directed.
  6. Perform physical searches of luggage and stores.
  7. Verify Guest and Crew ID cards during boarding.
  8. Possess the authority to prevent entry of individuals without approved ID.
  9. Enforce all shipboard regulations and report any improprieties.
  10. Escort discharged crew members during processing out.
  11. Secure and preserve evidence in cases of personal injury accidents or crimes committed in their presence.
  12. Assist in the embarkation and disembarkation of port pilots.
  13. Render assistance to guests and crew when necessary.
  14. Perform any additional duties as directed by the Chief Officer Safety or Security Officer.
