Overview
Quantity Surveyor (Civil & Steel Structure Engineering) (Mandarin Speaker) – Quantity Surveyor of Steel Structure and Civil Engineering, Mandarin Speaking.
Responsibilities
- Review construction plans and prepare quantity requirements.
- Scrutinize maintenance and material costs, as well as contracts to ensure the best deals.
- Liaise with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Prepare reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessments, and other documents.
- Advise managers and clients on improvements and new strategies.
- Keep track of materials and order more when required.
- Document changes in design and update budgets.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
- Travel from the office to various sites as required.
Daily Responsibilities (selected)
- Preparation and submission of bidding/quotations and cost estimate reports.
- Calculate construction costs for project tenders (Pre-Contract) based on tender drawings and documents.
- Evaluate all tenders/quotations from suppliers/sub-contractors.
- Manage and control all tender, contract and project documents and drawings.
- Control all stages of projects within predetermined budget and expenditure.
- Prepare, submit and follow up monthly progress claims, variation works, and final accounts.
- Prepare and evaluate certification of supplier's/sub-contractor's monthly claims, variation works, and final accounts.
- Attend site valuations and meetings when needed.
- Assist in all project contractual and costing matters.
- Responsible for contract and project tender.
- Coordinate and liaise with consultants and sub-contractors on contract matters.
- Monitor progress and coordinate planning with the Project Manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, engineering, management, or similar.
- Construction estimating or finance experience is advantageous.
- At least 3 to 5 years of working experience in tender management.
- Familiar with contracts.
- Understand the works flow for installation works for contract.
- Ability to work independently, handle tendering stages, and resolve contractual issues such as back charges, extension of time, final accounts, variation orders, etc.
- Experience in condominium/factory/warehouse building construction.
- Must be able to speak, read and write English and Mandarin. Experience in working with international teams is preferred.
- Willing to travel when required.
