A growing food ingredients company in Surabaya is seeking a proactive Quality Supervisor to lead quality control activities and ensure compliance with food safety standards. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, at least 3 years of experience in quality control, and strong leadership skills. We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Supervisor to join our quality team in the carrageenan industry. You will oversee daily quality control activities in production and laboratory settings to ensure compliance with food safety standards and product specifications. As a Quality Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising quality control processes, laboratory testing, and ensuring that raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods comply with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise day-to-day activities of QC analysts and laboratory technicians.
Ensure accurate testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products according to SOPs and specifications.
Monitor production compliance with quality and food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, ISO).
Review and approve laboratory test results, Certificates of Analysis (COA), and retain samples.
Coordinate with production, maintenance, and warehouse teams to address quality issues.
Participate in internal audits and assist in the preparation for external audits (e.g., FDA, ISO, customer).
Train QC staff on quality procedures, documentation, and safety protocols.
Maintain calibration records, test equipment logs, and ensure lab cleanliness and readiness.
Investigate non-conformances and assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Ensure documentation and traceability of quality records and batch tracking.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering, or related science course.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of experience in quality control or assurance in the food, pharmaceutical, or carrageenan/hydrocolloid industry.
At least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role is preferred.
Solid knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000).
Experience with laboratory testing, quality documentation, and inspection protocols.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented and capable of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Proficient in MS Office; experience with LIMS or QMS software is a plus.
