Description and Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Qualify suppliers, processes, equipment, devices, tools, and commodities according to planning.
  2. Ensure suppliers meet quality, reliability, functionality, performance, and specification standards certified by the Company and applicable government certifications.
  3. Ensure clear and accurate communication of technical problems and requirements.
  4. Contribute to process performance improvements and resolution of technical issues with suppliers and production lines through failure analysis and timely corrective actions.
  5. Provide continuous feedback to suppliers about their performance, including areas like competition benchmarking, new technology integration, failure analysis, quality improvements, and reliability.
  6. Maintain and take care of Lenovo equipment and materials used in job functions (e.g., notebooks, cell phones, tools, backpacks).
  7. Comply with the standards and procedures in the Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Management Systems, along with other Lenovo standards, procedures, and policies.
  8. Collect information from the Quality Global team and lead sites on new products to ensure the implementation of quality requirements and targets in supplier processes.
  9. Define KPIs and follow up on results to ensure target achievement.
  10. Perform other tasks related to the position as determined by the company.

Skills and Competencies:

  1. Quality Management Skills:
    1. Knowledge of PLM systems and managing a product’s lifecycle from conception to disposal.
    2. Proficiency in visual inspection, automated testing, and non-destructive testing methods.
    3. Understanding industry-specific quality challenges, standards, and regulations.
    4. Expertise in Lean principles, waste minimization, and process optimization techniques like Kaizen or Six Sigma.
    5. Skills in detecting and addressing quality issues during manufacturing.
    6. Proficiency in creating sampling plans and conducting quality tests.
    7. Ability to conduct internal and external audits for compliance.
    8. Proficiency in statistical tools (e.g., SPC, Minitab) for data-driven decision-making.
    9. Expertise in defining and monitoring quality-related KPIs.
  2. Common Skills:
    1. Familiarity with management software (e.g., ERP, WMS, TMS) and technologies like IoT and AI.
    2. Ability to reach mutually beneficial agreements with stakeholders.
    3. Identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies.
    4. Managing projects, including new product launches and process improvements.
    5. Knowledge of cost management, budgeting, and financial analysis.
    6. Strong skills in engaging cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and suppliers.
    7. Expertise in tools like RCA, Fishbone Diagram, 5 Whys, and FMEA for issue resolution.
    8. Skills in managing process transformations and technology implementations.
    9. Leading teams, fostering excellence, and driving continuous improvement.
    10. Commitment to customer satisfaction in product quality, cost, and delivery.
