A leading mining company in Indonesia is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to oversee quality for construction projects. The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of QA/QC experience in infrastructure. Strong knowledge of QA/QC methodologies and excellent communication skills are essential for this role, which aims to maintain high standards in project execution.
1. Quality Assurance Planning & Development
Develop, review, and update the Project Quality Plan (PQP) / Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) for construction and infrastructure projects.
Define inspection and test plans (ITP), quality procedures, control points, and acceptance criteria aligned with contract specifications and engineering drawings.
Coordinate with QA/QC site and Construction teams to monitor construction quality, highlight discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions.
Interface with contractors, consultants, and project managers to resolve quality-related issues and ensure timely closure of NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports).
Identify quality risks during project planning and execution and contribute to mitigation strategies.
Participate in pre-construction meetings and ensure quality requirements are communicated and understood by all parties.
2. Quality Control Implementation
Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with QAP, company procedures, and relevant standards (e.g., ISO, ASTM, SNI).
Conduct quality inspections and audits on civil, mechanical, electrical, and infrastructure works, documenting non-conformance reports (NCR) and corrective actions.
Coordinate and supervise third-party quality inspections, material testing, and laboratory verifications as required.
3. Compliance & Documentation
Maintain and control QA documentation, including inspection records, test results, material certifications, and method statements.
Ensure traceability and completeness of construction documentation to support turnover and commissioning.
Support audit readiness and compliance to ISO 9001 or internal quality management systems.
Identify potential quality risks, deviations, or conflicts during construction activities.
Provide technical guidance to contractors and subcontractors to resolve quality issues promptly.
Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
5. Reporting & Coordination
Prepare weekly and monthly QA progress reports, including KPIs, NCR status, and quality performance dashboards.
Support pre-construction meetings, quality briefings, and stakeholder communication.
Collaborate with Construction, HSE, Engineering, and Supply Chain to integrate quality practices into overall project delivery.
What skills and experience do you need?
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, architecture, or a related technical discipline
Have 5 years’ experience working in in Quality Assurance/Quality Control for infrastructure or industrial construction projects; Have Mining industry, heavy industrial projects or residential experiences is preferred.
Strong knowledge of QA/QC methodologies, standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ASME, AWS, ASTM, SNI), and construction codes
Ability to develop and implement quality plans, ITPs, and inspection procedures
Familiar with construction materials, installation methods, and testing protocols (civil, structural, MEP)
Detail-oriented with strong analytical, reporting, and documentation skills, Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and Ability to work independently in remote or high-risk project environments
Certification in ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor and HSE awareness or construction safety (preferred)
Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written and computer literate; Proficiency in MS. Office Excel, Word.
