Job summary

National Oilwell Varco is seeking a Quality Inspector to perform welding inspection, NDT coordination, and document control at our Batam site. Responsibilities include visual weld checks, DC measurements, NOI coordination with clients, and timely reporting.

The role requires at least 3 years in welding inspection with CSWIP 3.1 or AWS CWI, RI certification is a plus, and a technical diploma or degree. Night shifts and potential facility postings in Batam are possible.

Qualifications

• Min 3 years of relevant inspection experience with welding in oil & gas.
• Certified Welding Inspector with CSWIP 3.1 or AWS CWI.
• RI certification is an advantage and preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform fit up and welding visual inspection per project specs and code.
• Perform manual DC measurements with tape and laser for structures.
• Sent NOI and escort and perform joint inspection with client as required.
• Ensure NDT coverage is adequate as per weld map and requests.
• Maintain daily client communications for NOI updates.
• Keep prerequisite documents in place at site and fill joint matrix box data.
• Ensure QC document controller has material and welding traceability.
• Coordinate with DC surveyor and painting teams; issue release notes as needed.
• Willing to work nightshift and perform other QC duties as assigned.
• Be stationed at subcon facility in Batam as requested by org or QC Manager.

Ensure and carry out quality inspection as per project requirements and
ITP.

Responsibilities

• Perform fit up and welding visual inspection in line with project specs and code.
• Perform manual DC measurements with tape, laser distance meter etc for structure, pressure vessel/piping.
• Sent NOI and escort and perform joint inspection with client as and when required.
• Ensure NDT and coverage are sufficiently done as per weld map and timely requested.
• Ensure daily communication to client for NOI and update to superiors and conducted as required.
• Ensure all prerequisite documents are in place at site and all joint matrix box data are properly filled at site.
• Ensure QC document controller have proper material and welding traceability in place.
• Coordinate with DC surveyor team and painting team and issuance of release note as necessary.
• Willing to work nightshift, Perform any other QC related duties when required by organization or QC Manager.
• Willing to be stationed at subcon facility within Batam whenever requested by organization, supervisor or QC Manager.
• Perform Boroscope Inspection, coordinate with borocospe team and generate boroscope reports timely on daily basis.
