Job summary

JAPFA, a leading agribusiness, is seeking a QC Inspector in Indonesia to ensure product quality across process stages and maintain strict food-safety practices. You will perform sensory evaluations, collect samples, and document results supporting root-cause analysis and continuous improvement.

The role requires a D3 in a related field, 1–2 years’ QC experience, and familiarity with HACCP, GMP, and SSOPs, with willingness to work shifts in a production environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold a D3 in Food Technology, Food Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 1–2 years of QC Inspector experience in food manufacturing preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, SSOPs and food safety systems.
• Familiarity with SPC is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-process quality control inspections at Process-1 stages including raw materials, lines, and finished product verification.
• Monitor CCPs and OPRPs per HACCP plan.
• Perform sensory evaluations (appearance, odor, texture, taste).
• Collect samples for lab analysis and ensure proper labeling/handling.
• Record inspection data accurately in forms and systems.
• Identify and report non-conformities to production team and supervisor.
• Assist in troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
• Ensure GMP/SSOPs compliance and maintain a clean work area.
• Collaborate with production for continuous quality improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Control Supervisor.

• Conduct in-process quality control inspections at various stages of Process-1, including raw material inspection, line checks, and finished product verification.
• Monitor critical control points (CCPs) and operational prerequisite programs (OPRPs) as defined in the HACCP plan.
• Perform sensory evaluations (appearance, odor, texture, taste) of products according to specifications.
• Collect samples for laboratory analysis and ensure proper labeling and handling.
• Record inspection data accurately and promptly in designated forms and systems.
• Identify and report non-conformities, deviations, or quality issues to the production team and supervisor.
• Assist in troubleshooting quality-related issues and participate in root cause analysis.
• Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), and other food safety regulations.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Collaborate with production personnel to ensure continuous quality improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Control Supervisor.

Job Qualifications

• Minimum D3 (Diploma) in Food Technology, Food Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a QC Inspector in the food manufacturing industry, preferably in a similar processing environment.
• Strong understanding of food safety management systems (HACCP, GMP, SSOPs).
• Knowledge of quality control methodologies and statistical process control (SPC) is a plus.
• Ability to conduct sensory evaluations and interpret results.
• Proficient in using basic inspection tools and equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong observational skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work in shifts and in a production environment.
