Job description

The Assistant Manager, Quality Department, will support the Quality Department Manager in ensuring the highest standards of product quality and process efficiency within our manufacturing facility. This role involves assisting in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with relevant standards (e.g., ISO 9001, etc.). The Assistant Manager will lead and supervise quality control activities, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  1. Quality Management System (QMS) Support:
    1. Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company's QMS.
    2. Support internal and external audits, including preparation of documentation and follow-up on corrective actions.
    3. Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards and regulations.
    4. Maintain and update quality documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and records.
  2. Quality Control (QC) Activities:
    1. Supervise and coordinate QC activities, including incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
    2. Monitor and analyze quality data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
    3. Lead and train QC personnel on inspection techniques and quality standards.
    4. Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment.
    5. Handle customer complaints and non-conformance reports, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
    6. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance product quality and efficiency.
    7. Participate in problem-solving activities and root cause analysis.
    8. Promote a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
    9. Use statistical process control (SPC) and other quality tools to monitor and improve process performance.
  3. Team Leadership and Management:
    1. Supervise and mentor QC personnel, providing guidance and support.
    2. Conduct performance evaluations and identify training needs.
    3. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
    4. Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively.
  4. Reporting and Documentation:
    1. Prepare and present quality reports to management.
    2. Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality records.
    3. Document all quality-related activities and findings.
  5. Regulatory Compliance:
    1. Ensure compliance with all Indonesian regulatory requirements related to product quality.
    2. Stay up to date on changes to regulations.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, etc.), Quality Management, or a related field.
  2. Minimum 5 years of experience in a quality control or quality assurance role within a manufacturing environment.
  3. Strong knowledge of QMS principles and practices, preferably ISO 9001.
  4. Experience with quality control tools and techniques, including SPC, FMEA, and root cause analysis.
  5. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  6. Strong leadership and communication skills.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  8. Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English (written and verbal).
  9. Knowledge of local Indonesian regulations related to manufacturing and quality.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience in [Specific Industry - e.g., automotive, food, electronics].
  2. Certification in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma, CQE).
  3. Experience with SAP or other ERP systems.
