About the role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Purchasing Engineering professional to join our dynamic team at PT. OCWSB Pratama Indonesia. As a Purchasing Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our operations. Reporting to the senior Purchasing Engineer, you will be responsible for undertaking various planned tasks to achieve a high level of screening and evaluating supplier service delivery. The Purchasing Engineer must be able to screen and evaluate suppliers to select the best materials, products, or services for our business, often to enhance customer satisfaction. This full-time position is based in West Jakarta, with our Workshop located at MM2100 Industrial Area, West Cikarang District, Bekasi Regency, West Java Province.

What you'll be doing

• Understanding the technical data and specifications required by designers or technicians.
• Researching, identifying prospective suppliers, and monitoring supplier performance.
• Communicating equipment needs to suppliers and evaluating supplier options.
• Preparing proposals, requesting quotes, and negotiating purchase terms and conditions.
• Comparing and evaluating offers from vendors/suppliers, negotiating contracts, pricing, and preparing reports.
• Liaising with internal project teams and maintaining strong supplier relations.
• Inspecting and evaluating the quality of purchased items and resolving shortcomings.
• Ensuring all purchased products and materials meet specifications and negotiating with vendors as needed.
• Collaborating with organizational leaders to understand their needs.
• Ensuring timely achievement of supply goals.
• Reviewing the quality of purchased equipment, and handling legal and contractual responsibilities for both the supplier and the company.
• Facilitating communication between company stakeholders, managers, and team members regarding purchasing activities.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in technical purchasing or similar roles.
• Knowledge of computer data entry.
• Strong analytical, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in English (oral and written).
• Ability to follow instructions and collaborate effectively.
• Additional certifications or licenses may be required.
• Experience with SAP and SCM systems is preferred.
