Job summary

PT Asuransi MSIG Indonesia is seeking an experienced Underwriter to assess risks in corporate proposals and grow our Non-Marine portfolio in Jakarta. You will drive prudent underwriting, develop new products, and support client-facing activities.

Applicants should have at least 5 years in property and engineering insurance, with strong English, Excel skills, and excellent communication. This role requires on-site work in Jakarta and close collaboration with multiple departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Underwriter in Property & Engineering Insurance.
• AAAIK and/or AAIK certification is preferred.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive risk assessments of corporate business proposals.
• Increase profitability of the Non-Marine business through prudent underwriting and risk evaluation.
• Develop and manage the Non-Marine portfolio to meet targets and conduct portfolio reviews.
• Improve underwriting turnaround time and ensure 90% of processes meet service standards.
• Develop new Non-Marine products and regularly evaluate performance and market relevance.
• Support Production through knowledge-sharing sessions and client presentations.
• Maintain effective collaboration with Production and other departments.

Job description

Provide comprehensive risk assessments of corporate business proposals to support the achievement of the Company's targets.

Increase the profitability of the Non-Marine business through prudent underwriting practices and sound risk evaluation.

Develop and manage the Non-Marine business portfolio to achieve company targets and conduct regular portfolio reviews.

Improve underwriting turnaround time and ensure that 90% of underwriting processes are completed within the established service standards.

Develop new Non-Marine products and regularly evaluate their performance and market relevance.

Support Production colleagues by conducting internal knowledge-sharing sessions and/or delivering presentations to clients and business partners.

Maintain effective communication and collaboration with the Production Department and other departments and business units.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.

Minimum 5 years of experience as an Underwriter specializing in Property & Engineering Insurance, preferably with exposure to the oil & gas sector.

Proven experience in underwriting corporate insurance business.

AAAIK and/or AAIK certification is preferred.

Good command of English, both written and spoken.

Strong proficiency in Ms. Excel, particularly for data analysis and reporting.

Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
