Project Manager (Retail Store Construction)

Key Responsibilities
  • End-to-End Project Management

    • Oversee store construction from design approval to handover, ensuring on-time delivery for opening.

  • Design & Standards Compliance

    • Review and optimize construction drawings to align with brand identity, functionality, and cost targets.

    • Ensure layouts meet high-efficiency retail standards (fast turnaround, minimal downtime).

  • Vendor & Procurement

    • Lead tendering processes, evaluate bids, and manage contracts with suppliers/contractors.

  • On-Site Supervision

    • Monitor quality, progress, safety, and troubleshoot issues (delays, material shortages, etc.).

  • Stakeholder Coordination

    • Liaise with design, procurement, and operations teams to resolve cross-functional challenges.

  • Handover & Documentation

    • Conduct final inspections and ensure compliance with local regulations.

    • Archive as-built drawings, permits, and equipment lists.

Qualifications
  • Education & Experience

    • Diploma/Degree in Engineering Management, Architecture, Interior Design, or related fields.

    • 3+ years in chain store construction/commercial renovation, preferably in FMCG (snack stores, convenience stores, QSR).

  • Technical Skills

    • Expertise in retail store construction workflows, standards, and drawing reviews (CAD proficiency required).

    • Strong knowledge of tendering, vendor management, and contract negotiation.

    • Familiarity with safety, fire, and environmental compliance regulations.

  • Soft Skills

    • Results-driven with ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

    • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and cross-department coordination.
