Job summary

A.P. Moller - Maersk in Jakarta is seeking a Project Manager for its integrated Project Logistics team.

You will own end-to-end shipment lifecycles, coordinating inland delivery and collaborating with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure on-time, in-sequence project delivery. You will guide cross-functional teams across commercial, procurement, and QHSE, manage customer interfaces, and drive continuous improvement in project execution.

Qualifications

• Project freight forwarding background with 3-7 years' experience.
• Experience with sales support, tender management, and operations.
• Extensive executional experience across ocean, air, truck, barge including OOG cargo.
• Good knowledge of local and international freight forwarding operation flow and customs.
• Customer facing engagements and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end shipment lifecycle across MPL product family and transport modes.

Project logistics is a specialized subset of the logistics industry that requires a fully integrated approach to the global orchestration of material flow, order management and shipment execution from multiple origins to a defined site location, including transportation of regular, out of gauge cargo (OOG) and other sensitive cargo across various transport modes (Ocean, Air and Land) with the objective to deliver in full, complete, on time and in the right sequence per the customer’s project plan and schedule.

Be the primary point of contact for own customers and ensure smooth execution of the end-to-end shipment lifecycle, including the inland delivery, by working closely with the customer as well as internal stakeholders. Be fully responsible for customer satisfaction across MPL product offering (own customers). Manages people and processes to execute designed project solutions.

On any given day, the Project Manager will be

• Responsible for operational excellence across MPL product family and transport modes to meet customer deliverables
• Partner with commercial, growth enablement, QHSE and procurement to aid in the strategic development of the customer.
• Establish and track goals, metrics, and indicators for success for the MPL project.
• Demonstrate adaptability for market fluctuations, supply chain disruptions and customer timelines to meet contractual terms.
• Establish and foster data driven relationships with clients focusing on joint strategic vision and initiatives aligned to global MPL growth strategies
• Accountable for the internal implementation of the customer solution, ensuring reporting structure, QHSE requirements and continuous improvement loops embedded in organization
• Effective independent judgment to set priorities and work independently.
• Drive operational excellence across teams
• Identify and hold operational leadership accountable to customer program deliverables
• Identify value added solutions for the customer and Maersk
• Represent the account(s) during business implementation and execution, including onboarding of new Maersk product portfolio, collaborating with internal project owners accordingly.
• Responsible for identifying and reducing program operating cost
• Rate sourcing and ensuring the most economical solution is offered to customer
• Expected to be mobilized domestically/ internationally as and when job is required

What We Are Looking For

• Project freight forwarding background with 3 - 7 years' experience
• Experienced with sales support, tender management, and operations
• Extensive executional experience across all transport modes; ocean/air/truck/barge to include OOG cargo from A - Z
• Good knowledge of local and international freight forwarding operation flow including customs clearance requirement
• Customer facing engagements and presentations
• Strong ability to facilitate cross-functional decision-making across regions, product(s), and all stake-holders
• Strong communication skills
• Willingness to be attending site visits such as customers/ vendors visits, field operation and etc (If required)
• Willingness to work out of office hours (If required)
• Able to work independently, agile to changes and good team contributor
• Able to maintain good relationship with all stakeholders. i.e. internal/ external customers, vendors - truckers, stevedores, port operators, carriers and etc
• Ensure the procurement and evaluation of offers from sub-contractors are line with MPL standards
• Documentation control for documents issued from MPL internal stakeholders
• Responsible to maintain and update data integrity on TMS - Cargowise
• Engineering transport background will be an advantage
• Past project management experience
