Job Description
- Take ownership of projects and activities as outlined in the project proposal, including overseeing all phases of project development and managing teams and stakeholders—from planning through execution and completion. This also involves implementation cost and budgeting, while ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and timelines.
- Work closely with coffee suppliers, farmer group representatives, project stakeholders, and local government bodies to coordinate project planning and implementation. This includes identifying collaboration opportunities and strengthening stakeholder engagement to support project goals and company policy.
- Regularly assess project results and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate impact and progress. This involves analyzing data, identifying the gaps, and making recommendations to enhance project effectiveness.
- Ability to travel to remote locations and stay for extended periods for project implementation activities.
- Responsible for coordinating with the procurement and commercial teams to ensure alignment with our procurement goals in the project location. This includes coordinating procurement activities and ensuring traceability in project beneficiaries and supply chain collectors.
- Lead on organizing virtual and in-person events, including selecting venues, developing agendas, coordinating speakers, and designing strategies to enhance participant engagement. This includes conducting post-event evaluations to assess success and gather feedback for improvements.
- Responsible for preparing timely reports based on the needs of stakeholders and donors, and sharing them with management and project stakeholders. Conduct regular meetings with the field team, management team, and project stakeholders to ensure better alignment, progress updates, and planning.
- Develop SOPs for field activities, training models, and workplan for the region.
- Monitor the implementation of field activities and control costs.
- Provide direction and monitor day-to-day activities to the field team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business Administration, Agriculture business management, Rural Development, Environmental Studies, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Willing to travel to remote locations and stay for extended periods.
Professional Experience
- Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience managing field-based development or sustainability projects, preferably in the coffee sector or other agricultural value chains.
- Proven experience in project planning, implementation, and monitoring of community-based or rural development initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience working with farmer groups, cooperatives, and smallholder supply chains in Indonesia.
- Experience in coordinating with local government, NGOs, donor agencies, and private sector stakeholders.
Technical Skills And Knowledge
- Strong understanding of social sustainability, regen agriculture, agroforestry and inclusive development in rural/agricultural contexts.
- Familiarity with coffee supply chains in Indonesia, including production, processing, traceability, and certification (e.g., RA, Fair Trade, Organic).
- Practical knowledge of data collection tools, conducting baseline or impact assessments, and developing reports for donors and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage budgets, timelines, and multi-stakeholder coordination effectively.
- Knowledge of climate adaptation, agroforestry, or regenerative agriculture is an added advantage.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, especially for engaging local communities and stakeholders.
- Time management to prioritize work and ensure timely reporting.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide field teams.
- Problem-solving attitude with adaptability to work in remote rural locations under challenging conditions.
- Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and proficient in English (written and spoken).
