JOB PURPOSE:
To support the government with the technical, operational and strategic implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals Programme, ensuring alignment with the national priorities and WFP standards.
ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the integration of fortified food into the Free Nutritious Meals Programme by providing technical support (such as development of plans and processes, project management) and coordination assistance to relevant ministries and technical partners. Partners include fortification experts, food safety authorities, supply chain specialists, and academic institutions.
- Contribute to strengthening government capacity and ensuring alignment with broader fortification initiatives led by the Country Office.
- Contribute substantially to the planning and rollout of Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) activities related to school and adolescent health and nutrition, in close coordination with the responsible WFP officer and relevant stakeholders.
- Support the implementation of WFP’s technical assistance to the Government, particularly for the Free Nutritious Meals Programme, including coordination of activities, field-level follow-up, and ensuring responsiveness to evolving priorities.
- Facilitate coordination and engagement with relevant government counterparts at national and sub-national levels, including line ministries and technical agencies. Serve as an focal point for coordination meetings, technical working groups, and other collaborative platforms as needed.
- Organize key engagements such as meetings, workshops, missions, and high-level events, by supporting planning, logistical arrangements, documentation, and follow-up actions.
- Support the preparation of knowledge and advocacy products, including reports, meeting minutes, briefing notes, talking points, presentations, and other relevant materials.
- Assist in project-specific budget monitoring and reporting to ensure that financial resources are tracked and aligned with work plans and donor requirements.
- Contribute to cross-cutting activities such as data collection, monitoring, and reporting in close collaboration with the monitoring and evaluation team and technical leads.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor, in alignment with WFP’s goals and the team’s evolving needs.
STANDARD MINIMUM ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Advanced University degree in Public Policy, International Development, Nutrition, Food Safety & Handling, Supply Chain, Education, or a related field.
Experience: At least one (1) year of experience should be at the postgraduate professional level.
Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in the UN language in use at the duty station and Bahasa Indonesia.
DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE:
- Minimum five (5) years of relevant working experience in programme management, government coordination, or related areas.
- Previous work experience with school meals or with national sector platforms (in education, food security, nutrition, health, social protection, supply chain, agriculture and/or related field).
- Previous experience in food fortification and/or SBCC is considered added value.
- Relationship/partner management, project management, excellent writing, oral communication and analytical skills, coordination and communication, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
