Job description

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production activities, ensuring production targets are met, and optimizing resource use to maximize efficiency and minimize waste. This role involves leading and motivating a team, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards, and driving continuous improvement through lean manufacturing principles. The ideal candidate will be focused on operational excellence, team development, and achieving key production goals.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day production activities to ensure alignment with production goals and schedules.

Assist the Production & Equipment Manager in monitoring overall production performance and ensuring that daily targets are achieved.

Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team of production staff, including production leaders, operators, and support personnel, to meet operational objectives.

Monitor production lines to identify and resolve potential bottlenecks, ensuring smooth and efficient production flow.

Ensure all production operators are properly trained and follow established work instructions to maintain high operational standards.

Implement and enforce quality control processes to ensure that all products meet or exceed customer expectations.

Manage manpower resources effectively, minimizing downtime and optimizing labor utilization across shifts.

Monitor and manage attendance, punctuality, and adherence to company policies to maintain a disciplined and productive workforce.

Collaborate with other departments, such as Engineering, Quality, and Logistics, to ensure production goals are met and that any issues are promptly addressed.

Maintain and promote a safe working environment by ensuring that all safety protocols are followed and that safety concerns are addressed promptly.

Report on key production metrics, including output, on-time delivery (OTD), 5S compliance, and other KPIs to senior management.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the production floor, including lean manufacturing and process optimization efforts.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical & Electronics, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.

Proven experience in a production or manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.

Strong knowledge of production processes, resource allocation, and performance metrics.

Experience with lean manufacturing, process improvements, and driving operational efficiencies.

Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills.

Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to analyze data, report on key performance indicators, and drive results.

Solid understanding of health, safety, and quality standards in a manufacturing setting.

Advanced degrees or relevant certifications in production management or continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, etc.).

Able to work well under pressure and handle emergency and stressful situations
